Faithful to its mission to stage musical works in dynamic, cross-disciplinary contexts, Manning Camerata is working on a new dance piece based on Handel’s opera seria Orlando, which premiered in London in 1733.

In association with the Stadts Theater Bonn and Theater im Pfalzbau, Jorg Ritzenhof's re-scoring of Handel’s work will be performed by Manning Camerata and interpreted by award-winning company Cocoondance, pioneers of the independent dance scene in Germany.

The piece will explore the perennial themes of identity, working life, and travel through a heady mix of Handel’s music and the edgy, avant-garde movement of Cocoondance.
